Bald Cleanup

The Butler Mountain Bald is a resource that every resident of BME and BMH can share- but it has to be maintained. Every year the Bald Association schedules Cleanup Days.

From the Bald Association newsletter:

We are planning to host volunteer workdays on the 4th weekends of January, February, March & April. This is the season when we plan which areas will be cut this year and which areas won’t be cut

to encourage habituate diversity. We will focus our energy on areas that will not be cut this year during the annual Bush-Hog day which is typically in March, (...not February 2nd).

There are Apple trees that need attention, a few dying Virginia Pines that could be taken down, trail maintenance and always invasive plants to address.

With the grace of good weather, it will be a good time to commune and work with neighbors on the mountaintop.
